80G Ultra-High Temperature Radar Level Transmitter

YUNYI 80G Ultra‑High Temperature Radar Level Transmitter is a non‑contact level measurement instrument based on 80GHz millimeter‑wave FMCW technology. It is specifically designed for continuous and reliable level monitoring in extreme thermal environments – such as molten metal, steel slag, high‑temperature ore, and high‑temperature slurry – where conventional sensors fail due to heat, dust, steam, or heavy adhesion.

Operating in the 76–81 GHz band with advanced CMOS‑based millimeter‑wave RF chips, this transmitter delivers an extremely narrow beam angle, exceptional measurement accuracy, and superior penetration through thick dust, steam, or crystal buildup. It is the ideal choice for upgrading digital and intelligent process control in metallurgy, petrochemicals, energy, and fine chemicals.

Working Principle

The transmitter emits extremely narrow microwave pulses through a high‑frequency lens antenna. The time interval between emission and reception is directly proportional to the distance to the medium surface. An advanced microprocessor calculates the precise distance and converts it into level height.

The 80G series uses Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology – emitting continuous waves with linearly varying frequency. The difference between the reflected echo and the emitted signal is processed via Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), achieving high‑resolution ranging. This method offers strong signal processing even in complex echo environments, effectively suppressing false echoes and ensuring measurement continuity and accuracy.

Key Features

  • Ultra‑high operating frequency – 80GHz (76–81GHz)
    – Narrowest beam angle: as low as 3° – energy is highly concentrated, drastically reducing false echoes from vessel walls, agitators, ladders, etc.
    – Shorter wavelength (approx. 3.75mm) provides excellent reflection on solids, small granules, and low‑dielectric media.

  • Extreme temperature resistance
    – Process temperature range: –40°C up to +1100°C (ceramic‑sealed antenna models).
    – Ceramic antenna (alumina/corundum or silicon carbide) with melting point >2000°C prevents melting or thermal deformation.
    – Multi‑stage composite heat dissipation ensures stable operation even under intense thermal radiation.

  • High precision & reliability
    – Measurement accuracy: ±1mm – suitable for demanding process control and trade settlement.
    – Blind zone: as low as 6–10 cm, ideal for small tanks or levels near the top.
    – Smart echo processing (EchoDiscovery) automatically filters interference from steam, foam, condensation, or dust.

  • Strong anti‑interference & penetration
    – Unaffected by temperature, pressure, steam, dust, or vibrations.
    – 5GHz bandwidth ensures high resolution; excellent penetration through thick quartz glass windows.

  • Compact & flexible installation
    – Compact antenna size for small‑diameter flanges or confined spaces.
    – Process connections: threaded (G1½, 1½ NPT) or flanged (≥DN50/2″).
    – Process pressure rating: –0.5 to 3 MPa (up to 16 MPa for standard models).

  • Low maintenance & long service life
    – Non‑contact measurement – no moving parts, no wear, no media contamination.
    – Maintenance‑free operation reduces downtime and total cost of ownership.

  • Advanced connectivity & digitalization
    – Outputs: 4–20mA/HART (two‑wire or four‑wire), RS485/Modbus RTU.
    – Bluetooth for wireless configuration and remote commissioning via mobile app.
    – Compatible with SCADA, DCS, and IoT platforms.

  • Safety certifications
    – Explosion protection: Ex db IIC T6 Gb, Ex ia IIC T6 Ga, Ex tb IIIC, Ex ia IIIC – suitable for Zone 0/1 (gas) and Zone 20/21 (dust).
    – Ingress protection: IP66/IP67/IP68.
    – Compliant with ATEX, IECEx, and other international standards.
