How It Works
The sensor is mounted on a fixed structure, with the cable attached to the moving object. As the object moves, an internal spring maintains constant cable tension, pulling the cable and rotating the encoder synchronously. When movement reverses, an automatic reeling mechanism retracts the cable while keeping tension unchanged. The sensor outputs an electrical signal proportional to the cable travel, allowing measurement of displacement, direction, or speed.
